The morning after visiting Prague we visited a bone-chilling crypt, the Sedlec Ossuary. The design intent was founded on the concept of "memento mori", or "remember that you will die" in Latin. It is a way of reflecting on mortality, though the decor seems macabre to most people (including us - not fans).
Know Before You Go!
The Sedlec Ossuary is only about an hour outside of Prague and is easily accessible by car or train. Kutna Hora is a small town and we didn't have any problems parking nearby for free, but that might have something to do with the fact that we were visiting in January. There is a small fee to visit the Ossuary (3 euro). They only accept cash at the Ossuary itself; however, if you purchase your tickets at the Visitor's center, they accept credit card and allow you to purchase combination tickets (to include the new Ossuary).
