As mentioned on our Kotor page, after we disembarked our cruise ship there was a crowd of taxi drivers eagerly waiting to take tourists around the area. We hadn’t booked any excursions and had relatively few plans, so we went for it. We all climbed into a mini van and set off for the Perast Marina.
Once we arrived, we hopped onto a water taxi and headed toward Sveti Dordje / St. George Island. This Island is home to the Saint George Benedictine monastery. Sadly, the island is private so we only admired from afar before we explored its neighboring island of Gospa od Škrpjela.
We had this gem all to ourselves! It was nice to escape the cruise ship crowds and explore this tiny island which only houses the Roman Catholic Our Lady of the Rocks church.
